homeThing can work as a smart display for your home or office. You can configure the remote to show the status of any Home Assistant device. Set the remote at your desk to keep an eye on sports, or in the kitchen for news.
Custom Apps
Apps for homeThing are included separately and have custom UIs. Apps are easy to build with C++ experience and shared on Github. The current apps are:
- Media Control
- Snake Game
- Cat Toy IR Blaster
We are planning a Pomodoro timer, Weather app, and graphs!
Integrate Anywhere
Since homeThing is open source and runs on any ESP32 microcontroller with a display, you can integrate it into your existing smart home devices. Combined with Megadesk, homeThing can control the height of your smart desk and your music in one device always at your desk.
